J. Nicole Ward is a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas. She earned her undergraduate degrees from The University of Texas at Arlington where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then attended law school at The University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law.
During her time at UNTDCOL, she co-drafted a law that was passed, making it easier for people to obtain occupational licenses after being incarcerated for felony offenses. Nicole was an active member of the Honor Guard, National Hispanic Law Students Association, and Outlaw. She clerked full-time at a Personal Injury law firm while in law school and volunteered with Genesis Women’s Shelter, City of Dallas Attorney’s Office, SCIPP Court and Drug Court in Dallas helping people to reestablish themselves after living through drug abuse or family violence. It was in these programs where she felt called to Family Law in order to help people navigate difficult situations with dignity. Nicole has established herself in Tarrant County as a Family Law Attorney and has developed good working relationships with the judges and other counsel in the area.
She has been married to her husband, David, for 23 years and they have raised two wonderful, young adults together. In her spare time, Nicole can be found doting on her dogs and enjoying the nature of Colorado.
